Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, bringing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Residents observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, around 1,000 households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, over 28k energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both areas.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
